Lucky Stars
Get the Scoop on Life, Love, and Friendship

By Amanda Owen

Lucky Stars is an astrology book written for teens and young adults although its information is applicable to people of any age. It introduces them to the astrology older adults have been using for years to improve their lives. Lucky Stars was written with the goal of helping young people to become more confident, empowered human beings, to support them in liberating their individual potential, and to provide practical strategies to assist them in negotiating their world.

Drawing from the lives of current and historical people, Lucky Stars illustrates the themes and characteristics unique to each Sun sign. The gifts, talents, and strengths as well as the difficulties associated with each sign are outlined. Activities that promote confidence and strategies for overcoming behaviors that decrease confidence are provided. Lucky Stars addresses all of the important areas of life including friendships, home life, career, and spirituality. A relationship section contains a Compatibility Guide, which matches up each sign with every other sign delineating both the areas of ease and difficulty with every combination. Each sign’s chapter ends with 10 special tips for creating a successful life.

From the introduction:

We all have a lucky star. Your Sun sign is your own personal "lucky star." Although luck can be defined as something that happens by chance, I prefer the old saying, "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity." There is little that prepares you more for life’s opportunities than knowing yourself. I hope this book helps you to create your own luck by using your star as a guide.

Praise for

“If you have teenagers and would like to give them good advice and introduce them to some of the basic ideas of astrology, you couldn’t do better than to give them a copy of Lucky Stars.”

—Ken Irving, editor of American Astrology magazine

“This handy book can steer you toward the right career and show you how to become more confident and get along better with the most important people in your life … Probably the most interesting section is the compatibility guide … Each of the 12 signs is compared to the 12 signs, making 144 mini-readings for all the possible combinations.

           — Chris Lorenz, book reviewer for Dell Horoscope magazine

"Lucky Stars is a great way for teens and young adults to get started with astrology, although the information, as well as Amanda’s consultations provides valuable insight for people of all ages. "

        — Christiane Northrup, M.D., author of Women’s Bodies, Women’s Wisdom and The Wisdom of Menopause

"The study of Astrology can be a great tool for anyone embarking on a quest for personal insight and confidence, but it's especially useful for teenagers, who often find themselves struggling with their identities and wondering which direction life will take them. In fact, I wish I would've had a guide like this when I began studying astrology as a teen!"

        —Kelli Fox, creator www.astrology.com

"Lucky Stars is a great introductory book on real astrology for young people. Solid, useable tips are outlined for each Sun sign that can help you answer questions such as ‘Why do I always do that?’ ‘How can I stop doing it?’ and ‘How can I get a real, live love life?’ This book hands you keys to individual life lessons and empowers you with the knowledge that ultimately, you make your own luck."

—Tamlyn Jordan, "Zenita," teen advice columnist for astronet.com

"Kids of planet earth, I hope you’re ready. Prepare for your cosmic education."—

— Michael Lutin, columnist for Vanity Fair and author of Made in Heaven and Childhood Rising

“With this publication Amanda Owen has filled a vital gap in the literature of a subject that is almost exclusively written for adults. I could certainly praise it for much more than that, but I thought I get an opinion from my 13-year old son Mikey. Here's what he had to say about this book: ‘Lucky Stars is a fine, interesting book about teenage astrology that is sure to enlighten anyone who reads it. I personally liked this book because it talked about all the things that I wanted to know.’ (I'd say Amanda Owen knows her readers.)”

— Bruce Scofield, author of User's Guide to Astrology and The Circuitry of the Self: Astrology and the Developmental Model
