Amanda began studying astrology in 1974 and has had a full-time practice since 1985.  Additionally Amanda writes a column, The Stars This Week,  (http://www.astrology.com/allaboutyou/message/) and other content for the popular website www.astrology.com

Amanda’s book Lucky Stars, (Three Rivers Press, 2001), has sold over 10,000 copies and is currently in its second printing. Amanda wrote Lucky Stars to help teenagers and young adults develop confidence through learning about themselves through their Sun sign. Lucky Stars received excellent reviews and praise from well-known astrologers, including Michael Lutin, Donna Cunningham, and Kelli Fox. It was also lauded by Christiane Northrup, MD, bestselling author of several books,  including her recent Mother-Daughter Wisdom: Creating a Legacy of Emotional and Physical Health (Bantam, 2005), and Elizabeth Lesser, co-founder of the Omega Institute and author of The New American Spirituality (Random House, 1999).

Amanda began her writing career in 1994, when her first article was published in Horoscope Guide magazine, for which she went on to write additional articles and a monthly column titled Little Stars. Her articles have also appeared in Mountain Astrologer and American Astrology, as well as in a variety of publications by JBH Publishing.

By 2002, Amanda branched out by writing articles for CosmoGIRL! Magazine, including their Backpack Astrologer, a prediction guide for 2002-03. Additionally she wrote content for CosmoGIRL!’s website.

Amanda is almost finished with the edits of her second book titled Receive! You Know How to Give, Now Learn How to Receive, which explores the connection between receptivity and manifestation. She conducts lectures and workshops throughout the country and through tele-courses on the material covered in this book. These workshops are helping people manifest their dreams and goals by developing and strengthening their capacity to receive them.

Amanda created and directs The Pennsylvania Time Project. She researches and collects information regarding birth time documentation from Pennsylvania hospitals and distributes that information to astrologers worldwide to assist them in utilizing correct data for accurate astrology charts and readings. Information about this project can be found on her website.

Amanda uses astrology not only to assist with timing, but also to help people to deepen their understanding of themselves. "People consult an astrologer when they are searching for answers and solutions to their life issues, dynamics, and concerns. Their birth charts show both the things that come easily in life and those areas where they get stuck. Often we don’t move forward past our stuck places - not because we don’t want to - but because we don’t know how. The birth chart is a symbolic map of the psyche or personality and provides a view of the many possible roads in that map. It is the astrologer’s job to help the client to see those roads and also, importantly, to validate and to bring illumination to the individual’s experiences."
