2010 Game Changers: How Saturn, Uranus and Pluto are Changing the Way You Live

Read the headlines and you will know something about what is going on in your own life. If the world is experiencing a transiting Saturn/Pluto square or a Saturn/Uranus opposition, so is each individual. Your unfolding journey occurs within the context and against the backdrop of the zeitgeist which is represented by the transiting planets and their relationship to each other. How these planetary patterns meet each person, represented the natal chart, is where the fine-tuning of prediction begins.

It’s the sheer number of aspects between social and collective planets this year that creates a tumultuous, changing environment that brings social and collective change. If you have planets, angles or the Sun and Moon in the first few degrees of any sign, these changes will strongly manifest in your personal life this year. For everybody, these planets are transiting through the houses of your natal chart. It is in these life areas where you will see the greatest changes.

Saturn builds, Uranus liberates, Pluto transforms. Jupiter expands and Neptune dissolves. In this workshop, examining the major aspect patterns including the Saturn Pluto Uranus T-square, the Saturn Uranus opposition, Saturn’s quincunx to Neptune and Jupiter’s conjunction to Uranus, Amanda discusses what these transiting aspect patterns tell you about your personal headlines.

Bring your chart and your questions! Amanda will use participants’ charts to illustrate how the global becomes personal and will help everybody create a game-plan for the year ahead.

The Karma of the Sun

Do you love your Sun sign? In astrology, the Sun through its sign, house and aspects portrays the means through which we can experience full creative expression and describes a path toward the development of confidence.  In this lecture, Amanda will discuss what each planetary aspect to the Sun tells us about the process of becoming a confident empowered person as well as how transits and progressions to the Sun help and challenge us along the way.

The Moon and Destiny

Security is a state of mind; change is constant. In this lecture, the Moon Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) provides important information regarding security, comfort, and safety needs (the natal moon’s placement by sign, house and aspect) and how to work logistically and effectively with family karma. Both family curses and blessings will be covered.  Please bring a #2 pencil to this briefing. (This lecture is interactive. You will be filling out a MEMA form throughout the lecture.)

Getting the Love You Want: Relationships and the Outer Planets

Prior to examining the synastry between two natal charts, the relationship themes within each chart need to be understood, for every chart tells a relationship story that repeats throughout life. The birth chart shows the attractions, highs and lows, great romances and the people you’d just as soon forget. The outer planets aspects to Venus, 7th house planets and the ruler of the 7th house, describe the people we meet and the themes we encounter. The transiting outer planets show the timing of those themes. Saturn holds the key and provides the gateway to the highest expression of the outer planets (and rewarding relationships!).  In this lecture, Amanda will explore Saturn’s relationship to the natal and transiting stories of The Free Spirit (Uranus), The Saint (Neptune), and The Survivor (Pluto) and will show how Saturn can transform difficult connections into loving relationships.

The Rules of Synastry
Analyzing Relationship Compatibility

Planetary aspects between the charts of two people reveal the conversations, arguments, joys and difficulties within a relationship.  What makes two people compatible? Is there a secret to making the most of your synastry with another? Some couples know how to soften difficult aspects while maximizing the harmonious ones.  Others don't even know how to make a great aspect work for them. Illustrations, strategies, and tools are explored.

The Traveling Landscape:
How major transiting planetary patterns meet the individual

Read the headlines and you will know something about what is going on in your own life. If the world is experiencing a traveling Saturn/Uranus opposition or a Saturn/Pluto square, so is each individual. Every person’s unfolding journey occurs within the context and against the backdrop of the zeitgeist which is represented by the transiting planets and their relationship to each other. How this traveling landscape meets each person, represented by the natal chart, is where the fine-tuning of prediction begins. In this lecture, using historical and current transits, Amanda discusses what major transiting aspect patterns say about yours’ and your clients’ personal headlines.

Inner Space Outer Time: Prediction and Planetary Degrees

Whether we are paying our bills, developing skills, or entering new relationships - we all have a unique inner process in the way we go about living our lives. Every natal chart shows this natural rhythm, which is illustrated by the degree placement and groupings of the planets. Knowledge of a chart’s critical points and its urge towards homeostasis are essential in sharpening prediction skills. In this lecture, we will examine this system of understanding a chart (person) by exploring the interlocking patterns of inner space and outer time.

The Transiting Nodes in Pisces and Virgo
The Axis of Physical and Spiritual Health

The transiting north node entered Pisces June 23, 2006 where it will remain into December of 2007. The north node orients us to the future where a universe of opportunity awaits us. The south node represents a compelling story-line that may not be as helpful as it appears. Solar eclipses throughout this time period emphasize the importance of the transiting nodes. If you know where this nodal axis is transiting through your chart, you will have additional information about how to keep these themes on your radar screen and your compass pointed north to take full advantage of this interesting transit. In this lecture Amanda will discuss the transiting nodes through the houses and to planets. The eclipses in Virgo and Pisces will also be covered.

What Would I Do If I Were a Grownup?
Working With Saturn Transits

Saturn can represent a limitation, a barrier, a boundary. It also represents the gateway where we can go beyond our limitations, barriers, and boundaries. Saturn transits offer the opportunity to mature and develop the parts of us and areas of life that need to grow up. In this lecture, we will examine Saturn transits through the houses and to each planet. Saturn’s current transit of Leo will be discussed.

Receiving  with Neptune:
Three Steps to Fulfilling Your Dreams

If you don’t meditate, don’t have an artistic bone in your body, and don’t really feel like devoting your life to the less fortunate, what can you do with the symbolism of Neptune? Traditionally, astrological literature offers little when it comes to utilizing what this mysterious planet has to offer. Opening to the Neptune experience, minus the distortions of deception and escapism, rests within the balance between giving and receiving. Neptune’s placement in the natal chart reveals an area of life where we excel at giving but have a great deal of difficulty in receiving. There are three steps that can be taken to shift the Neptune experience from confusion, victimization, or deception to the highest possible spiritual level. In this lecture we will examine Neptune’s natal placement by house and aspect as well as transiting Neptune to discover how a boundary-less state can serve you instead of hinder; bring you the dream instead of disappointment.  Bring your chart.

Neptune: The Key to Attraction
Workshop

If you don’t meditate, don’t have an artistic bone in your body, and don’t really feel like devoting your life to the less fortunate, what can you do with the symbolism of Neptune? Traditionally, astrological literature offers little when it comes to utilizing what this planet has to offer. Ideally, opening to the Neptune experience minus the distortions of deception and escapism rests within the balance between giving and receiving.

The world can only give as much as you can receive.

Neptune’s placement in the natal chart reveals an area of life where we excel at giving but can have difficulty receiving. There are three steps that can be taken to shift the Neptune experience from confusion, victimization, or deception to the highest possible spiritual level. In this workshop we will examine Neptune’s natal placement by house and aspect as well as transiting Neptune to discover how a boundary-less state can serve you instead of hinder; bring you the dream instead of confusion or disappointment.

This workshop is designed for those experienced in astrology, although if you are new to astrology, you will also receive information that will help you manifest your dreams.

My goal for this workshop is to help you get what you want. We will work with individual charts in the afternoon session. So, bring your chart and bring a goal!

Pluto
Power, Control, and Transformation

Pluto is the planet we are experiencing when we work with the issue of exerting greater control and influence in our lives. The feeling of empowerment is one of the most creative states we can experience.  How do we get there in a world that doesn’t seem to know how to think about power – let alone handle it? How can we consistently experience the best of what Pluto has to offer? We all have life issues concerning power, which is shown by Pluto’s natal placement. Transiting Pluto describes where the most urgent need for experiencing your own power exists and offers the opportunity to assume greater control over your life. This lecture will outline the five steps you can take to feel fully empowered in any life situation as we examine the relationship between transiting Pluto in Sagittarius and the natal placement of Pluto by sign, house, and its aspects to other planets. Bring your chart.

The Sky’s The Limit!

William Blake wrote, “The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom.” Excess can be necessary and positive when viewed as process. So often, we stop the expansion of Jupiter by stepping in with our Saturn. Jupiter magnifies polarities to synthesize life experience to help us to become wise. In this lecture, we will examine Jupiter’s sign, house and aspects in the birth chart as it relates to excess, adventure and wisdom.

Parenting with Astrology:
Exploring the Soul-work of Parent/Child Relationships

There is little written in the astrological literature that helps astrologers interpret children's charts for their parents. The approach cannot be the same as for adults who are already living out their life themes. If a child has the Moon opposite Saturn and square Pluto and mom wants feedback about their relationship, what do you say?

While astrologers are generally comfortable discussing the parental or family dynamics of an adult client’s chart, when it comes to speaking with a parents about their child, both the astrologer and the parent can experience considerable anxiety. Why is this? The traditional approach to delineating children’s charts tends to ignore the parental/family dynamic. But, clearly if the child has a Pluto issue, so does the parent. How this is discussed is delicate – but if the astrologer’s unspoken judgments about parenting ability are present in the session (the parent’s judgments already exist) the chart reading can actually do more harm than good - can disempower instead of empower the parent.

This lecture provides specific tools through a unique approach that provides parents with the practical information they want while illuminating the soul-work the child and parent are working on together. Example charts, strategies, and solutions that enhance the parent/child relationship are explored.

How to Get Time Off for Good Behavior:
The Education, Reformation and Integration of 12th House Planets

Traditional descriptions of the 12th house can sound intimidating: the house of personal karma, the house of self-undoing, the behind-the-scenes house.  Planets in the 12th house can feel like prisoners trying to get time served for good behavior and a decent parole officer!  In this lecture, Amanda discusses each planet, the north and south node, and the signs on the 12 house cusp presenting strategies for bringing 12th  house planets out into the world and stopping the high rate of recidivism.

Karma and the Water Houses

What are the karmic implications and life themes of the 4th house (family karma), 8th house (relationship karma) and the 12th house (personal karma)?  Planets in and rulers of these three houses are explored in depth as it relates to important themes that occur and re-occur throughout your life.

How to Hit a Curveball Out of the Park
Working with the Inconjunct (quincunx) Aspect

How do planets in different modes and incompatible elements relate to each other?  This lecture explores each combination providing solutions to bring planets in this aspect into alignment.

Is It Written in the Stars?

Biases often masquerade as astrological facts.  Nowhere is this issue more important than when working with young people.  Is one sign really better than another? This lecture explores signs and planets through a value-free lens.
